The National Sports Authority says it will no longer have the Ghana-Uganda Nations Cup qualifier played free of charge at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Saturday.
The Authority early Friday announced the rather shocking decision as part of measures to improve the support base for the Black Stars team that has fallen out of favour with the fans.
The fans are angry with the Black Stars for the embarrassing outing at the World Cup in Brazil.
The resentment against the team was all too glaring when sections of the fanatic Kumasi fans reportedly booed at the players during training.
There were reports the the fans will boycott the crucial Saturday game prompting a rather strange free gate announcement by the National Sports Council.
But Joy Sports' George Addo reports the decision has been reversed.
According to him, officials of the National Sports Council have cited security concerns as basis for reversing the decision.
They may not be able to handle the crowd that may turn up if the stadium were to be opened for free.
As a result of the reversal a token amount of 2 cedis will be charged at the popular stand and 20 cedis at the VIP stand.
