Amenfiman Rural Bank Limited at Wasa Akropong in the Wasa Amenfi East District in the Western Region has donated items to three local assemblies to support the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
The items worth about GH¢67,000 were presented to Wasa Amenfi West Municipality, Wasa Amenfi East Municipality, and Wasa Amenfi Central District all in the Western Region.
The items include disposable gloves, nose masks, hospital mattress, and tissue papers, gun thermometers, Veronica buckets with stands and hand sanitizers.

CEO of Amenfiman Rural Bank, Dr Alex Asmah, who presented the items on behalf of the Bank said the donation is to support government’s efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus which has so far infected 313 persons and claimed six lives.

Though, the Western Region is yet to confirm a case, according to him, the pandemic has affected economic activities in their operational territories and as a socially responsible organisation, there is the need to contribute to government’s efforts to curb or control the spread of the virus.
Dr. Asmah also believes the donation will also help reinforce the message that the Health Ministry and the Ghana Health Service have been stressing; the importance of washing hands under running water as well as the application of hand sanitisers among other precautionary measures.

The Wasa Amenfi East Municipal Director of Health, Felicia Amissah, who received the items on behalf of the government, was thankful to the Bank for the kind gesture.
She further reiterated how the bank keeps supporting the people of the region and called on other corporate entities to emulate the Amenfiman example, particularly in this abnormal time Covid-19.
The thermometer gun for instance has been in short supply to the assemblies.

Madam Felicia Amissah, therefore, advised her colleagues to take good care of the items especially the thermometer guns because they struggle to get deliveries.
