Member of Parliament (MP) for Manso Nkwanta Constituency in the Ashanti Region has distributed over 2,000 more face masks to constituents for the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.
The distribution is part of 10,000 pieces of such personal protective equipment to be distributed among residents to reduce the rate of infection of Covid-19 during the period of the exercises.
Prof Joseph Albert Quarm said, "it is the responsibility of every Ghanaian to protect themselves.”
Though constituents observed social distancing protocols at various centres of registration reiterated that it is necessary for them to be fully protected.
The donation is to enable all residents within the constituency to adhere to the wearing of nose masks directive to stop the spread of the disease.
Prof Quarm did the distribution of the masks himself at the centres making sure everyone who stands the risk of being infected gets one.
He says understanding the issues surrounding the pandemic in order for them to strictly observe and enforce preventive measures is paramount.
He also encourages residents to continue to practice social distancing during the exercise.
