The Electoral Commission has revealed that no political party presented any concerns to the Commission following the re-exhibition of the revised Provisional Voters Register (PVR).
The public would recall that during the October 15th IPAC Meeting, the Electoral Commission provided the Political Parties with soft copies of the revised PVR and also a Template for them to report any discrepancies that they would discover in the revised PVR during the re-exhibition exercise that took place from Tuesday, 15th October to Saturday, 19th October, 2024.
However, according to the EC, no Political Party presented any concerns to the Commission during and after the re-exhibition exercise.
This was made known after the Commission on Wednesday, 6th November, 2024 provided all registered Political Parties and Independent Presidential Candidates with the soft copies of the Certified Voters Register, in accordance with Sub-Regulation 4 of Regulation 27 of Constitutional Instrument (C.I.) 91.
Releasing the Certified Voters Register on Wednesday was also in fulfilment of the pledge the Commission made to the Political Parties during the last IPAC Meeting that took place on the 15th of October, 2024, that it would release the Certified Voters Register within the first week of November 2024.
The Commission has assured all Stakeholders that the Certified Voters Register is robust and credible and has therefore urged the Public to support the Commission to deliver free, fair, transparent and credible elections in December 2024.
