The Central Regional Minister has assured family members of the 10-year-old boy who was allegedly murdered by two teenagers that the culprits would not go unpunished.
Justina Marigold Assan said when justice is meted out, it will serve as a deterrent to others from towing that lane.
She added, “We [authorities] cannot sit aloof for people to continue taking lives like that.”
During the Central Regional Minister's visit to commiserate with the grieving family she extended the condolence of the President as well.
"On behalf of the President, we came this afternoon to see the family, to wish them well, to send the President's condolence message to them."
Madam Assan also assured the bereaved family of government’s commitment to support them in any way possible.
Commenting on the tragic occurrence, she said “It is quite unfortunate to have a situation like this where our own young children can take somebody’s life it’s so mind boggling can’t just understand the motive behind what they did even the courage they got to do what they did. It’s very unfortunate.”
The Regional Minister prayed that the country, Ghana would not experience such a tragic event again.
She urged parents to prioritise the welfare of their children and ensure that they are living in accordance with morally accepted behaviour and to be security conscious of their wards at all times.
“For Kasoa, we all know that there are so many things happening but we are also appealing to the general public to be security conscious especially mothers taking good care of their younger ones, we need to know where our children are going, where they are playing and when we even send them, we need to follow suit to know that our children are safe,” she said.
