The Akan MP, Yaw Gomado, has presented computers and accessories to the Kadjebi district directorate of education for effective and quality education delivery in the Oti Region.
The items included five laptop computers, two desktops and a printer.
Receiving the items on behalf of the directorate, the Acting District Director of Education, Rosaline Kafui Ofori, assured the legislator the items would be obliged to improve quality education delivery.
“We have been without these items for some time now and it has delayed our work and as you have promptly attended to our request, we are also promising and assuring you that we are going to put the items to good use – and to maintain and service them regularly.
"These are delicate items, and we are giving you full assurance that we would not let you down. We know what we have been through, and we are going to use them to improve our education outcomes,” the director added.

According to the MP, improving the quality of education and the lives of the people in his constituency is his priority, hence the need to promptly respond to some of these requests.
Mr Gomado implored the directorate to take good care of the items provided and ensure they are put to good use to enhance education.

“This is to enhance the quality of education in the district; take care of it, treat them like your babies. A lot of the time, people do not take care of what does not belong to them. Please do this for me,” he added.

The MP also bemoaned the insufficient supply of furniture to schools in the district. According to him, over 4,000 mono-desks are required to bridge the deficit gap.

He has called on individuals and NGOs interested in education to help provide pieces of furniture to schools in the district.
