The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has foiled an armed robbery attack on a victim on the Amasaman-Nsawam road in the Greater Accra Region.
In a statement issued by the Service, the victim suspected from his mirror view that he was been trailed by two suspected robbers on a motorbike.
But unknown to the suspects, they were also been followed by the police in an unmarked police vehicle.
According to the Police, the suspect known as Suleman Alhassan alias Man upon identifying the police vehicle shot at the side headlight of the unmarked car.
The police fired back hitting the suspect in his face.
Also, the motor rider was also shot to prevent his escape.
“Items retrieved include a Bruni MOD 92 foreign pistol loaded with two live rounds and the Royal Motorbike seen in the pictures accompanying this post,” parts of the report read.
The police also added that suspect Suleman is a wanted criminal who has been involved in a series of robberies in Accra and Tema.
“Police continue to urge the public for information on suspected criminals and assures informants of the utmost confidentiality.”
