In the face of the economic crisis, various labour unions have demanded that government fulfills its promise related to some conditions of service.
Currently, UTAG, Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), Teachers and Educational Workers Union of Ghana (TEWU) and the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) are on strike which has entered its fourth week over non-payment of Vehicle Maintenance Allowance which the government agreed with the union sometime ago.
The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) and the Colleges of Education Non-Teaching Staff Association of Ghana (CENTSAG) have also threatened strike action in few days due to unfair treatment by the government to some of its members.
Three teacher unions in the pre-tertiary institutions have also declared a strike action over the appointment of a new Director-General of GES.
PM Express will thus, tonight, have a conversation on what seems to becoming a turmoil in the education sector.
