A Breman Asikuma magistrate's court has remanded three persons into police custody for allegedly stealing a motorbike belonging to one Kwamena Gyasi from Breman Fosuansa.
The pleas of Yaw Akrofi, aged 24, Samuel Asante, 32 and Alhassan Tafuru, a motorbike mechanist based in Accra were not taken and would re-appear on April 10.
Police Chief Inspector Gershon Awuyeh told the court presided over by Miss Cynthia Hammond that on March 25, Akrofi and Asante took advantage of a black-out at Breman Fosuansa and broke into the storeroom of Gyasi during his absence and stole his Yamaha motorbike.
The two persons agreed that Asante should send the bike to Accra for sale but on his way the bike developed some fault.
Akrofi hid the bike in a bush, went to Accra and brought Tafuru to repair it after which he took it to Accra for sale.
Tafuru bought the bike but on March 26, Akrofi was arrested. He mentioned Asante as his accomplish and Tafuru as the buyer.
The prosecution said the two were later arrested and efforts are being made to retrieve the bike that Tafuru claimed had been sent to Bimbila, his hometown.
