New Crystal Hospital a leading healthcare service provider in Ghana has partnered Lumière Foundation owned by the first runner-up of Miss Ghana UK 2022 pageant to provide free medical support for sexual assault victims in Ghana.
According to Margherita Melody Nana Adwoa Boatemaa Oppong, this initiative is a passionate project she is undertaking to help serve as a voice for the voiceless in society who have been sexually abused.
She further added that as part of this initiative to create awareness, provide education on how to prevent sexual assault and empower victims, sensitisation drives will be undertaken through a series of media engagements and outreaches at schools and churches across the country.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to launch this project, Dr Wisdom Amegbletor the CEO of New Crystal Hospital mentioned that, the hospital has taken several initiatives to support women and the vulnerable in society and is pleased to partner with Lumière Foundation as part of its 20th-anniversary celebration and corporate social responsibility to champion this social course.
“New Crystal Hospital will provide the necessary free medical and psychological treatment and support to victims of sexual abuse, which includes but is not limited to medical examinations, counselling, and therapy,” Dr Wisdom said.
According to Sebbie Abednego Tetteh, the marketing manager of New Crystal Hospital, a dedicated gynaecology consultant, a counsellor and a psychiatrist are available at all the hospital branches in Ashaiman, Tema, Michel Camp, Adjei-Kojo and Takoradi to provide free services to the victims.
The company has also dedicated a toll-free number – 0800180260 which victims can use to reach the hospital.
He further urged victims to leverage this opportunity to seek support.
