MultiChoice Ghana, owner of satellite stations DSTV, Showmax and GoTV has launched its 30th-anniversary celebrations in Ghana.
Speaking at the launch, Executive Chairman of the MultiChoice Group, Imtiaz Patel, indicated that the multi-platform pay TV operator has contributed significantly to Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and has helped reduce the unemployment situation in the country, offering jobs to the youth all over the country.
According to him, the company has employed over 4,000 Ghanaians, both direct and indirect.
“Since inception 30 years ago, Multichoice has cumulatively invested about $1.3 billion in Ghana. These figures aggregate contribution includes $44 million annually to the GDP of Ghana. Our local tax and regulatory contribution amounts to about $15.8 million annually,” he said.
Chairman of Multichoice, Ghana Richard Darko, reiterated the company’s commitment to providing content and services to meet the needs and demands of customers.
The company has over the years given Ghanaians a good television viewing experience.
