The German Ambassador to Ghana, Daniel Krull, has reiterated his country’s support towards helping Ghana fast track economic recovery.
According to him, securing its 3 billion dollars IMF bailout will help bring Ghana's debt to a sustainable level.
Speaking at the GIZ WIDU Entrepreneurs Award, Daniel Krull said Germany is committed to helping Ghana reach a debt sustainability level.
"Germany is the second largest bilateral creditor to Ghana and we are ready to live up to our responsibility to help Ghana reach a sustainable debt service level. And we’ll do this with all creditors on board”, he mentioned.
Country Director of GIZ Ghana, Regina Barbosa, said the beneficiaries of the WIDU project have created and secured about 2,100 jobs so far
The GIZ WIDU project provided Ghanaian diasporas with the opportunity to support entrepreneurs to scale up and create more job opportunities.
The entrepreneurs were awarded in areas such as agribusiness, technology and sustainability.
Fifteen Entrepreneurs were awarded with cash prizes ranging between ¢5,000 and ¢15,000 respectively.
In total, 950 businesses across Ghana have benefited from financial support, tailored business coaching and networking.
