All 10 flagbearer hopefuls of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been cleared to contest in the upcoming elections.
The party disclosed this in a press release issued on Wednesday, July 12.

According to the said press statement, the Prof Mike Oquaye Vetting Committee approved all ten candidates after vetting them individually.
The General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong said the Committee made this known in their report pursuant to Article 10(3) of the New Patriotic Party's constitution.

“Pursuant to Article 10(3) of the New Patriotic Party's Constitution, the Vetting Committee for the Party’s Presidential Primary Election submitted its report to the National Council through the General Secretary on Monday, July 10, 2023.”
“In the report, the Committee recommended the under-listed individuals as eligible to participate in the upcoming Presidential Primaries subject to the approval of the National Council.”

The statement added that the National Council will meet and deliberate on Tuesday, July 20.
The National Council of the party is scheduled to deliberate on the Vetting Committee's recommendations on July 20, 2023.
