In early November, Sean “Diddy” Combs secured a Grammy nomination in the best progressive R&B album category for “The Love Album: Off the Grid.”
But shortly after, the music mogul faced a slew of lawsuits stemming from sexual assault charges, leading to his temporary resignation as chairman of Revolt and the cancellation of his Hulu reality show.
Those wondering if Combs will show face at the 2024 Grammy Awards can put the speculation to rest as Combs will not be attending the ceremony on Feb. 4, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Combs has been somewhat silent on social media and in the public eye since the lawsuits started piling up. It began with accusations from R&B singer Cassie, who dated Combs for years, in a suit filed on Nov. 16 that Combs had been combative towards her throughout their relationship.
She described him as a “serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms. Ventura.” The following day, the two parties settled the lawsuits on what they both described as amicable terms.
Less than a week later, Joi Dickerson-Neal filed a suit against Combs claiming he “drugged, sexually assaulted and abused her” and that he created “revenge porn” of her.
A third lawsuit was then filed by a Jane Doe who says that Combs and R&B singer Aaron Hall took turns raping her and her friends in the early 1990s.
Then, another Jane Doe took Combs to task on Dec. 6 claiming that he, Bad Boy president Harve Pierre and another man raped her at the age of 17.
On that day, Combs finally spoke out about the flurry of suits filed against him, claiming his innocence. “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth.”
