The Reverend Winfred Azornu, Kwesimintsim District Pastor of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church, on Sunday called on the people to take advantage of the celebration of Easter to renew their commitment towards the protection of the environment.
In an Easter message released at Kwesimintsim near Takoradi, he said as Christians jubilate on Easter Sunday, they should not forget that Jesus Christ walked in an environment.
Reverend Azornu said Christians should therefore protect the ecology and keep their surroundings clean because "cleanliness is next to Godliness".
He said, if Christians see Christ as their Saviour, they have to save others as Christ saved them and is continuing to save them.
"We have to liberate people as we have been liberated", he said adding, "By liberation, we are referring to our association with People Living With HIV/AIDS and the destitute".
Reverend Azornu said by associating with these marginalised people, Christians would be playing the role of Jesus who ate with sinners, tax collectors and lepers.
He said the people should reconcile with one another as the nation celebrates her GoldenSource: GNA
