United Kingdom-based Ghanaian Gospel artiste Yvonne Asamoah-Tawiah, popularly known as Minister Yvonne, has been shortlisted for the 2024 Ghana Music Awards Europe.
She has earned nominations in the 'Gospel Song of the Year' award under its “Best Diaspora” category.
The 2021 Ghana Music Awards-UK Gospel Artiste of the Year winner, has been on the Gospel music scene for four years now and is unarguably one of Ghana’s most successful gospel artists based in the diaspora.
Minister Yvonne’s unique sound and back-to-back hit songs, led her to become the first Ghanaian to get featured on the highly–acclaimed BBC Music Introducing.
The Ghana Music Awards Europe is a highly respected awards scheme celebrating exceptional Ghanaian music talent in the country and diaspora. This nomination recognises Minister Yvonne's outstanding contributions to the Gospel music industry and her impact on the global music scene.
Minister Yvonne reacted to the nomination: “this nomination could only have come through the Spirit of God and not man. As I have said before, this song was born from the Spirit and it is soaring on the wings of the Holy Ghost."
“I am grateful to everyone who has supported us, the media, the churches, the ministers who have taken this song to the ends of the earth, and the many people it continues to be a blessing to,” she added.
Winners will be announced in Amsterdam on September 7, where the 2024 edition of the Ghana Music Awards Europe will take place. The show will consist of livemusical performances and acceptance speeches.
