On Tuesday, the September 10, 2024, US-based Ghanaian gospel musician Edd Agyapong will release his first major single of the year, ‘Maseda’, which features Ghanaian-based musician Nana Adobea Sikapa.
‘Maseda’ (My Thanksgiving), as the title goes, is a personal testimony for both Edd Agyapong and Nana Adobea Sikapa.
‘Maseda’ is the ultimate thanksgiving song for anyone, irrespective of their religious beliefs and background, who has experienced goodness and favor. Sharing their personal experiences and how God came through for them at the nick of time, Edd Agyapong revealed that he had earlier wanted to title the song ‘Aseda’ (Thanksgiving) but upon reflection he realised that it was a personal testimony.
“I decided to go with Maseda and not Aseda because this is a personal Thanksgiving song from me to the Lord for his goodness and last-minute miracles when it mattered,” he said.
Nana Adobea Sikapa also shared her personal experience: “This song, like most of my songs, was easy to record. When I heard the song, I only prayed for one word, and when I got it, it was effortless to flow. The message of the song by Edd Agyapong resonated with me, and that made a lot of difference in the recording process. However, after listening to the song over again after the recording, I noticed how personal everything I said was to my life and some of the challenges I am going through. 2024 has been a tough year for me, but the Lord has always come through, and MASEDA is my way of telling God to come through for me once again.”
Produced by US-based Ghanaian producer Osei, ‘Maseda’ is an upbeat tune that is great for every situation or mood and sits perfectly between the gray lines of praise and worship.
The music video shot by renowned Ghanaian videographer, McWillies, also creatively uses the stunningly rich sceneries in Ghana to help share the ‘Maseda’ testimony with all music video lovers.
‘Maseda’ by Edd Agyapong and Nana Adobea will be released on all music streaming platforms. Log on to your favorite streaming platform and help share the testimony. Or check out the video on YouTube: Edd Agyapong, ‘Maseda.’
