The Ghana Country Director of Global Media Foundation (GLOMEF), Clement Boateng, has reminded civil and public servants desirous to openly mount political platforms to back off.
He declared, "Ghanaians do not want to see any civil or public servant stand on a platform and campaign for any political party during the 2024 electioneering".
"That is not the rule of the game, so those who wish to do so should resign their positions and behave as politicians.
May I advise you to remain as neutral as possible in performing your duties as civil or public servants," Mr Boateng stated.
In an interaction with journalists at Sunyani, the Bono regional capital, he further cautioned civil or public servants not to use state resources to engage in politics.

He maintained that it is incumbent for them to continue to show their commitment and dedication to their duty, no matter which government was in place.
He added, "Do not allow your personal interests to overshadow the generality of the people you serve".
Mr Boateng also encouraged the heads of departments at Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to set good examples for their subordinates to emulate.
"They should eschew lateness to work and ensure environmental cleanliness, and make sure that furniture, curtains and other office appliances are decent," the Ghana Country Director of GLOMEF stressed.

He emphasised the need for the heads of departments to remain disciplined to compel the junior staff to live above reproach, pointing out that "Your decent appearances ought to reflect what pertained in your respective offices”.
He appealed to political heads of the various Regional Co-ordinating Councils to insulate public and civil servants from active partisan political activities.
“The practice by some political heads in the country to woo public or civil servants into their partisan programmes is disastrous and ought to stop,” Mr Boateng stated.

He said that some of the heads of departments openly make certain remarks and utterances which suggest the political party they belong to, stressing that, "Your only duty as public or civil servants is to support the government to achieve its goals, so just act in that line and save yourselves".
