Jackson Ngechu, better known as CMB Prezzo, hails from Kenya and has officially transitioned from secular music to gospel, marking a significant change in his life and career.
On Sunday, October 27, 2024, during a service at Empowerment Christian Church (ECC) in Nairobi, guided by Rev. Lucy Natasha, Prezzo publicly dedicated his life to Christ.
This move also saw him debut his first gospel single, expressing hope that his new music would inspire and resonate with the youth.
Prezzo expressed deep gratitude to Rev. Natasha, crediting her guidance for his transformation.
“I want to send a very big shout-out to her, Reverend Lucy Natasha,” he said. “If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be in the gospel zone.”
He then performed his new gospel song, backed by a vibrant choir, which energized the congregation and filled the atmosphere with praise.
Rev. Natasha joined the celebration, offering prayers and dedicating the song to God, asking for divine guidance to use Prezzo as a vessel for uplifting others through his music.
She later took to social media to commend him, saying, “When you enter His presence with praise, He enters your circumstances with power! Congratulations to my spiritual son @prezzo254 for the release of your new gospel song that launched today @eccnairobi.”
Prezzo’s decision to embrace gospel music signifies a stark departure from his past image, characterized by a flashy lifestyle and a love for luxury, as well as being an icon in East African secular music.
Now, as a gospel artist, he hopes to make a positive impact on his audience by spreading messages of hope and faith.
