Pepsodent, Ghana’s leading oral care brand, today marked World Oral Health Day (WOHD) 2025 with a vibrant event at the Ridge Church School, reaffirming its commitment to improving oral health across the nation.
The event, held in collaboration with the Ghana Dental Association (GDA), the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Goldfields Ghana, and the Ghana Private Road Transport Union, highlighted Pepsodent’s ongoing efforts to bridge the dentist-patient gap and promote good oral hygiene practices.
This year’s WOHD celebration emphasized that Everyone Can #TalkToADentist, highlighting the importance of accessible dental care and its impact on overall well-being. The event featured engaging activities, including oral health education sessions, dental screenings, and a captivating performance by dance icon Afronita.
Chris Wulff-Caesar, CEO & Managing Director of Unilever Ghana, emphasized Pepsodent’s commitment to improving oral health for all Ghanaians: “At Unilever Ghana, Pepsodent has proven over and over again to be a trusted brand. That is why we bear the responsibility to join the cause in improving the oral health of Ghanaians everywhere who have remained loyal to us. We believe that access to dental care is a fundamental right, not a privilege. That’s why our commitment to ‘Everyone Can #TalkToADentist’ remains unwavering.”
Unilever's Marketing Manager for Oral Care Africa, Vera Boadu, added that the brand is “incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made during this ‘Month of Smiles.’ Seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they receive dental care and education is truly rewarding. We are committed to continuing our efforts to make oral health accessible to everyone in Ghana.”

Pepsodent reminded attendees and the general public of its innovative Teledentistry service, where people can access free dental consultations via WhatsApp and a toll-free number (0800 161 000). This innovative service aims to overcome barriers to accessing dental care, such as distance, cost, and time constraints. Through Teledentistry, Ghanaians can connect with qualified dental professionals from the comfort of their homes, receiving advice, guidance, and even preliminary diagnoses.
As part of its activities and in conjunction with the GPRTU, Pepsodent sponsored a number of “Smile Rides” in Accra, where buses from selected stations offered commuters free rides, Pepsodent products, and oral health education, bringing smiles to their daily journeys.
The WOHD celebration was the climax of Pepsodent’s “Month of Smiles,” a month-long initiative dedicated to promoting oral health awareness and access to care across all 16 regions of Ghana. Key activities included free dental screenings and oral health education at schools and public areas in partnership with the GDA.
Pepsodent remains committed to building a future where every Ghanaian has access to quality dental care. The brand will continue to work closely with the GDA, the Ministry of Health, and other partners to expand its reach and impact, promoting good oral hygiene practices and making dental care accessible to all.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including representatives from the Ministry of Health, the Deputy Minister of Education, and representatives from the Osu Traditional Area.
