Gospel musician Perez Musik has praised Cwesi Oteng for his significant contribution to the gospel music scene, particularly in the contemporary urban gospel genre.
He stated that Cwesi Oteng created numerous opportunities for young gospel singers following the release of his hit song ‘God Dey Bless Me’ in 2012.
In an interview with Roselyn Felli on Joy Prime’s Changes show, the ‘Hewale Lala’ hitmaker noted that Cwesi Oteng paved the way for him and many other gospel artistes to enjoy greater recognition and opportunities within the industry.
“Cwesi Oteng is just an amazing inspiration when he did the ‘God Dey Bless Me.’ There are a lot of things we’re enjoying now as musicians which would have been difficult if Cwesi hadn’t come. He paved the way for a lot of things,” he said.
Adding his voice to Cwesi Oteng’s past comments about the criticism and spiritual attacks he has faced from fellow gospel artistes, Perez Musik agreed, stating that it is indeed true and somewhat normal.
He further explained that people often try to eliminate what they do not understand, saying people always try to eliminate you when you’re a mystery to them.
“The attacks are many. Some of them are physical while others are spiritual,” he furthered.
Having said that, he believes silence is often the best way to avoid attacks, as talking too much may expose one to dangers.
“Sometimes it’s best to remain the mystery that they know you for because when you talk or show too much, you give them a reason to be able to get you. So, sometimes just remain the mystery that you are,” Perez Musik cautioned.
