The 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has acknowledged that several factors contributed to the party’s defeat in the 2024 general election.
However, the former Vice President expressed confidence that the party can bounce back stronger.
Dr Bawumia, who was the NPP’s presidential candidate in the polls, urged members and supporters to remain united as they prepare for the future.
Speaking to party faithful, Dr Bawumia stressed the importance of reflection and learning from past mistakes.
“There were indeed multiple factors that led to our loss in 2024, and we must be honest with ourselves in recognising them. But this is not the time for despair — it is a time for renewal and rebuilding,” he said.
He emphasised that the NPP remains a formidable political force and can regain the trust of Ghanaians if it stays focused on the needs of the people.
“Together, we can turn things around. The people of Ghana still believe in the vision of the NPP, but it is up to us to show them through action, humility, and dedication that we are ready to serve again,” he added.
Dr Bawumia further called for discipline and hard work among party structures at all levels, noting that unity of purpose would be critical to future success.
He reiterated his commitment to supporting the NPP in its efforts to reorganise and re-energise its base ahead of the next electoral cycle.
