The La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly has demolished unauthorised structures at Madina Redco Junction as part of a broader decongestion and sanitation drive.
The exercise, which took place on Friday, September 12, was led by Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Ibrahim Faila Fuseini, with support from the Assembly’s task force, police officers, and military personnel.
Containers, kiosks, and other makeshift structures sited on unauthorised locations were pulled down to improve movement and restore order in the busy area.
Some affected individuals expressed frustration and shock, telling Adom News’ Prince Owusu-Asiedu that they were not prepared for the demolition.
After the operation, the MCE declared Redco Junction a security zone and warned that no new structures would be allowed in the area.
Mr. Fuseini emphasised the Assembly’s commitment to sustaining order and cleanliness.
