The Asiakwa Town Council is to enforce its bylaws on sanitation and arrest persons who litter the environment, says Nana Ama Kwayowaa, Assembly member for Asiakwa. She said littering of the environment with water sachet and other polythene products and the indiscriminate disposal of waste products had became a problem in the area and the only means to check the menace was for people to be held responsible for their irresponsible behaviour.Nana Kwayowaa was speaking at a soccer gala organized in collaboration with the traditional council for the youth as part of the Easter celebration in the area on Easter Saturday. She said the sanitation problem in the area was getting out of hand and as part of measures to help contain the situation, the District Assembly had donated two tricycle-bins for the collection of refuse and urged the people to make use of the facility to help curb the menace.Nana Kwayowaa encouraged the youth to focus on their education since it was the only means through which they could be self-reliant and maintain the high educational standards in the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional area.Source: GNA
