Police from the Nkawie Divisional Command have arrested Kwabena Bioh, accused of shooting and robbing a mobile money vendor at Nkawie in the Ashanti Region.
A police source said Bioh was alleged to have carried out the robbery with his friend, currently at large.
The victim, Akua Afriyie, 40, who sustained two gunshot wounds on her lower right abdomen, has since been referred to the Komfo Ankoma Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
On November 27, 2025, at about 2045 hours, the Nkawie Divisional Police said it received a report from one Georgina Antwi that at approximately 2000 hours the same day, her sister, Akua Afriyie, a mobile money vendor, had been attacked, robbed and shot by Bioh and his friend, whose name was unknown.
The source said Georgina Antwi rushed the victim to Essuowin Model Health Centre for treatment.
The police accompanied Georgina to the health centre and saw her sister being attended to by health personnel.
It said efforts were underway to arrest Bioh’s alleged accomplice.
