The Ghana Tourism Authority has partnered with the State Transport Company to deploy five shuttle buses to support the movement of eventgoers and visitors during this year’s ‘December in GH’ celebrations.
According to a post on the Ghana Tourism Authority’s official Facebook page, officials say the initiative is designed to ease traffic congestion and improve access to major activity hubs across Accra and surrounding areas throughout December.
The shuttle routes include:
• Prampram to Tema Roundabout to 37
• Oyarifa to Madina to 37
• Pokuase to Achimota to Circle
• Kasoa to Circle
• Accra Mall to Black Star Square
They added that the move is aimed at enhancing the December in Ghana experience and making transportation more convenient for both locals and tourists.
This year, the Ghana Tourism Authority has intensified efforts to elevate the December in Ghana celebrations.
In addition to the shuttle service, the authority is coordinating with event organisers to ensure a calendar of well-publicised concerts, cultural shows, food fairs and light displays. They are also implementing crowd management measures, promoting eco-friendly travel options, and collaborating with local communities to showcase regional crafts, cuisine and heritage attractions to visitors.
The GTA said these measures are part of a broader push to position ‘December in GH’ as a major cultural and tourism highlight, attracting both domestic and international visitors and boosting local businesses.
