Ghana forward Mohammed Fuseini made his UEFA Champions League debut for Royale Union Saint-Gilloise on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, as a second-half substitute in their 2-0 away loss to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
The appearance marked a significant milestone for the 23-year-old, who had previously only featured in the competition's qualifying rounds and expressed a strong desire to play in the main tournament.

Fuseini entered the match in the 66th minute, replacing teammate Koki Machida, and played for a total of 24 minutes.
His debut came shortly after his return from an ankle injury suffered in September 2025 that had kept him sidelined for approximately five months.
He had only just made his return to the squad in a Belgian Cup match against FCV Dender EH on January 14, followed by a league appearance against KV Mechelen, making the Champions League debut a rapid and positive progression in his recovery and return to top-flight football.
The match itself saw Bayern Munich secure a dominant victory. Despite the defeat for the Belgian side, Fuseini's return to the pitch at the highest level of European club competition is considered a timely boost for both his club and the the Black Stars, ahead of forthcoming international competitions.
