Three men have died in a road traffic accident involving a HOWO 371 truck near the Asenema Waterfalls on the Adukrom–Koforidua Highway in the Eastern Region.
Personnel from the Kpong Municipal Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded to the incident after receiving a distress call.

According to the Service, the truck overturned near the waterfalls with three male occupants trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters carried out rescue and extrication operations to remove the victims from the wreckage. However, the three occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
The bodies were subsequently handed over to officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service.

They were later conveyed to the morgue of the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
Firefighters also cleared the road to ensure it was safe for motorists before returning to base.
The cause of the accident is yet to be determined.
