A call has gone to government to appoint committees within the assemblies to take over the disbursement of MPs fund from the district chief executives.A call has gone to government to appoint committees within the assemblies to take over the disbursement of MPs fund from the metropolitan, municipal and district chief executives.Speaking to the GNA, the Senior Pharmacist of Agona Swedru District Hospital, Mr. Derrick Owusu-Ambrose, noted that disbursement of MPs Fund had been the bone of contention between MMDCEs and MPs.Mr. Owusu-Ambrose said because some MMDCEs were aspiring to become parliamentarians, they felt reluctant to release the fund to the sitting MPs just to sabotage their programmes and made them unpopular."If we want peace in the assemblies, MMDCEs should not control the MPs fund,” he suggested. He adds that a committee possibly to be made up of District Budget Analysts, Planning Officers and either Local Government Inspectors or Finance Officers could be set up to oversee the fund.Source: GNA
