The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has fixed April 13 as the deadline for submission of entries for its 2007 awards.
Entries should cover works published between January to December 2006.
A statement signed by Mr Bright Blewu, GJA General Secretary, said the competition was open to media houses in Ghana and to GJA members working in the Ghanaian media.
This year’s event is being held as part of the Ghana@50 celebration.
The awards would be in four categories – news reporting and features, investigative reporting, photojournalism, sports, arts and entertainment, finance and economics, environment, health and rural reporting, columnist and best talk show (radio and television), best layout and designed newspaper, human rights and peace building.
It said for all the five awards in category four and Journalist of the Year, nominations by the public would be considered alongside nominations of the Awards Committee.
For those awards, GJA members and the general public should nominate candidates giving reasons for their nominations in not more than 120 words.
Entries should be addressed to: The Chairman, Media Awards Committee, GJA, P.O. Box GP 4636, Accra.
