Nine galamsey operators are dead after a pit they were working in collapsed on them at Nsuapim near Japa in the Wassa Akropong district of the Western region.Doctors at the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital told Joy News the nine; six women and three men died before they were brought to the hospital on Monday morning.Reports say at least 30 people are trapped.The Tarkwa Divisional Police Commander, Daniel Sapark Sampana says a search party is working fervently to retrieve the remaining 21 bodies.
