Accra Hearts of Oak have withdrawn from the glamorous Caf Champions league for the 2009/10 season.
The decision was taken after a marathon meeting held by the Board members of the club in Accra on Wednesday.
Sources told Joy Sports the poor form of the phobians was the talking point of the meeting and which culminated in the rather surprising decision.
Hearts despite winning the 2008/09 Glo Premier League have been patchy, picking just three out of a maximum nine points in the opening league season.
The current performance notwithstanding, the phobians, sources say are wary of the cost to be incurred if the club took part in the campaign.
After thorough appraisal of the situation the Board agreed to cede participation in this year’s competition in order to concentrate on building a winsome side for the next season.
