Tomas Rosicky has been named in Czech Republic’s 28-man preliminary squad for Euro 2016 – despite making just one appearance this season.
Rosicky, 35, made only one appearance this season for Arsenal: an FA Cup win over Burnley in January in which he appeared as a substitute after 71 minutes. However, he sustained another injury in the process and although he returned to action for the Under-21s, he failed to make the bench for a farewell appearance against Aston Villa on the final day of the season.
Arsenal keeper Petr Cech was also included alongside his soon to be ex-team-mate, who while he has been a fringe member of the Arsenal squad for some time, did make five appearances during Euro 2016 qualifying, playing for 450 minutes in total. Rosicky has 100 international caps, scoring 22 goals.
Sparta Prague duo Borek Dockal and Ladislav Krejci impressed in their run to the Europa League quarter-finals and earn a place.
