SWAG President Kwabena Yeboah has described the two match empty stadium ban imposed on Hearts of Oak as harsh.
The Phobians were hit with a two match stadium ban after violent conduct by their fans in their 3-1 defeat at the hands of Wa All Stars.
The renowned sports commentator believes punishment are intended to reform offenders not to destroy them
"It is important to be rational in the kind of punishment we met out and we must always remind ourselves with the fact that punishment are meant to reform not to destroy,” he told Adom FM Sports.
“So for the first time if you are going to ban a team in these harsh conditions to play behind closed doors I thought it was extremely harsh.”
“Playing two matches behind closed doors is still harsh because I will go for a fine which has been imposed on Hearts of Oak and playing their matches away from home is also a severe punishment,” he added
“But to ask them to play behind closed doors in two matches in my personal view is extremely harsh against the background that this the first time they have been involved in such an act.”
“I think in moving forward it obvious that we want to eradicate hooliganism but it also important to measure the kind of punishment we met out to these clubs.”
Hearts have completed one of the two match ban against Hasaacas.
