The two day Greater Accra Guaranty Trust Bank Limited (GTBANK) super soccer zonal soccer championship culminated successfully at the El-Wak sports stadium on Thursday with zone 2 emerging victorious in the boys finals after defeating zone 1 (2-0) to secure the trophy.
The ladies finals like the boys, showcased an amazing performances from both sides but zone 4's pressure eventually told, as they engineered a revenge to beat defending champions of Zone 2 (2-1) to annex the ultimate.
“It’s hard work," Kenneth Koomson the coach of zone 2 said.
“Schools like Accra High, Labone, Aquinas, Accra girls, whatever we do we put in our all”.
The tournament hailed as the principal cup in collaboration with the Ghana Education service (GES) has gained enough publicity and last year secured a five (5) year sponsorship deal with GTBANK who seeks to ensure the super zonal soccer competition is enhanced to uphold sports in the country and beyond.

The managing director of GTBANK Lekan Sanusi said, “What we intend to do is to see how champions of each countries participate in principal cup for the whole of Africa.
“We have to create the future and to create the future you have to be ready to work very hard. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the very first step”
And as rightly said by Lekan Sanusi , the winners of the 2016 edition of the Greater Accra GTBANK Super Zonal soccer championship have a lot to do if they are to be part of posterity heroes in sports despite their heroics at this year's tournament.
