The person, who leaked the information that led to the arrest of Kofi Seidu, driver of the murdered British/American missionary, Rev. Sydney Thomas Barnes, has been rewarded.Following the disappearance of the 75-year-old missionary, a group which called itself Friends of Rev. Barnes announced a reward of 1,500 pounds through the CID to be given to anyone who provided information that would lead to the arrest of the murderer.The group handed over the money to the police for onward presentation to the informant whose name is being withheld for security reasons.The Administrator of the Police Criminal Investigations
Department (CID), Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Alex Amponsah Asiamah, who disclosed this to the Times in an interview last week, said the amount was given to the informant some time last week.The missionary, 75, was reported missing on March 18 on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport after returning from holidays from the United States.Three persons, Kofi Seidu, Rev. Goodwill Padmore, Principal of the Prestige Secretarial and Computer School at Koforidua, which was established by the missionary and Issaka Mohammed, a mason at Adoagyiri, near Nsawam, have been arrested in connection with the missionary's death.They were put before court and remanded in custody to appear on November 16.Source: The Ghanaian Times
