Black Queens coach Yusif Basigi is expecting a tough semi-final clash against host nation Cameroon but he is cautiously optimistic his charges will come out on top to book a final spot in the ongoing Africa Women's Championship.
The West Africans recorded a 3-1 win over Mali to finish second in group B and set up a mouthwatering showdown with Cameroon.
Ghana will square off against Cameroon on Tuesday, who all of a sudden have become favorites to win the competition following an inspiring performance in the group phase.
They topped group A winning all matches and are favorites to secure final berth at the expense of Ghana who scored seven goals but conceded in all three group games to finish runners up to Nigeria in Group B.
But Ghana coach Yusif Basigi is undaunted by the challenge ahead of their clash at the Omnisports Ahmadou Ahidjo in Yaoundé.
“On the pitch it is going to be 11 against 11 but we know the fact that the supporters will be behind them,” he said.
“They will definitely be under pressure because they are the host, but I know my girls are determined ahead of this game.
“We are confident. We know we can beat them on Tuesday.”
