PR agency, Mahogany Consult has organized a one-day free breast screening session for its staff and clients.
The exercise which was in partnership with Medifem Multi-specialist Hospital and Fertility Centre was to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month this October.
Mahogany Consult facilitated the breast cancer screening, which was held at the Dzorwulu branch of the Medifem Hospital in Accra.
Participants were screened and examined for signs of lump in the breast, redness of skin of the breast, a discharge from the nipple, a rash or peeling of the skin on the breast, a sunken nipple, and a change in the size or shape of the breast among other diagnosis and tests.
Speaking at the event, PR Manager of the agency, Janice Osei – Essah said “Mahogany Consult believes that we need to be as interested in our team’s physical wellbeing as we are in their intellectual capabilities. We learnt so much at the screening and will encourage every organization to do same”.
She was impressed with the turnout and the positive feedback received and promised to replicate the exercise in subsequent years.

“Mahogany Consult is grateful to Medifem Multi-specialist Hospital and Fertility Centre for their unflinching support in making this event possible. I appreciate my team and clients for understanding the need for this and I will urge the general public, especially women, to, from time to time, undergo breast cancer examination”, adding that “early detection means prompt treatment – to save your life!”
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness of the risks of Breast Cancer and how treatment can be provided to affected individuals and families.
