The Bono East Regional Police Administration has temporarily closed the Kwame-Danso Police Station in the Sene West District after some irate youth allegedly attacked police officers and judicial service personnel.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, when police officers escorted a suspect to court in Kwame-Danso for judicial proceedings.

The attack prompted the temporary closure of the police station as authorities assessed the security situation and took steps to restore order in the area.

The police have since restored calm and are engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure normal policing activities resume as soon as possible.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Techiman, the Bono East Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCoP) Shaibu Abubakari Sadique-Osei, described the incident as unfortunate and appealed to residents to support the police in maintaining peace and combating crime instead of attacking security personnel.

He reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service's commitment to protecting lives and property, urged residents to remain law-abiding, and disclosed that the Regional Police Command was working closely with the Police Headquarters in Accra to facilitate the reopening of the Kwame-Danso Police Station.
