Asante Kotoko have confirmed head coach Steven Polack will be rewarded with a new two-year deal at the club following a successful debut season.
The Englishman, who joined in the middle of last season following the sacking of Croatian coach Zdravko Logarusic, managed to stabilise things at the club and led them to win the MTN FA Cup.
His current contract is expected to end in a few weeks, but Public Relations Officer of the club, Obed Acheampong has confirmed that they are in advanced talks with Polack to renew his contract.
“A contract will be handed to him. But he will have to meet management for a review of the season and then the contract will be renewed.
“In his initial contract, there was a clause that suggested that a two-year contract will be given to him depending on how the season ended.
“Even before we got to this stage there was a gentleman’s agreement that the relationship will continue, so I don’t think it requires any massive negotiations,” he said.
Polack led Kotoko to two trophies in his six months in charge, winning both the President’s Cup and the MTN FA Cup.
