Former Black Stars and Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah has laughed off false reports about his death which swept the internet on Monday.

A satire website reported that Yeboah, who scored 29 goals in 59 appearances for the Black Stars, had died at a hospital in Maryland, USA.

The portal attributed the news to the wife of the renowned goal poacher.

But the former Eintracht Frankfurt talisman has moved to dismiss the reports.

Yeboah said, laughing:  “This has to stop. It wasn’t long ago I heard similar reports about Abedi Pele. I’ve not been sick so I was a little surprised to hear that.

“But I believe when this happens, it even gives you long life. I just arrived in Kumasi from Accra not long ago so I’m alive and healthy,” the 51-year old concluded.

He also posted a video on social media to prove he's fit and kicking.
