Prophet Kumchacha has disclosed that he and former President Jerry John Rawlings have put their differences behind them and are now the best of friends.
This is after the former President publicly criticised him and Bishop Daniel Obinim, founder of the International God’s Way Church, at the 2014 Amu Festival in the Volta Region.
Former President Rawlings criticised the men of God for allegedly exploiting and manipulating the ignorance of their congregation.
In a rare public attack, Mr Rawlings said “…they are so brave in the kind of things they purport, the kind of things they do. Ladies and gentlemen, when people watch things like this, knowing very well that they [pastors] are not achieving what they claim they are doing, we end up perpetuating the ignorance and the grip of these people on the ignorance of our people.”
“As we watch TV, I don’t think we are putting enough efforts into showcasing some of these cultural, traditional festivals – the activities that are going on around the countryside – and yet so much precious airtime is given to people like these two prophets I’ve been talking about of late: the one in Tema, called Obinim and the other one called Kumchacha,” the former President added.
Touching on his relationship with Mr Rawlings, Prophet Kumchacha, born Nicholas Osei, told Lexis Bill in an interview on Behind the Fame on Drive Time on Joy FM Monday, that they have smoked the peace pipe.
According to him, after the former President got a better understanding of what he does and what he stands for, Mr Rawlings was convinced he is not fake.
“I am an original man,” Prophet Kumchacha stated, revealing that he goes to visit Mr Rawlings every time he wants to.
The Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries also said former President John Kufuor is his friend and he is happy to see him.
