The Kpando Police has arrested a 17-year-old apprentice carpenter at Kpando for allegedly stealing a Sony Ericsson mobile phone belonging to a phone dealer.
The suspect, Charles Dzroh, was allegedly seen with Mumuni Salifu, the complainant on the day the phone got missing and was arrested to assist the police in their investigations.
Mr William Akpesey, Kpando Police Commander who briefed the Ghana News Agency said Dzroh and Salifu walked together on that day to Salifu's house where the suspect expressed interest in the said phone and wanted to buy it.
He said on reaching home, Salifu placed GH¢3 (¢30,000) and the phone on a bench on which Dzroh was sitting.
Mr Akpesey said Salifu entered his room briefly and when he came out, Dzroh was nowhere to be found as well as the phone and the money.
He said the Police was investigating the case.
