Media and Publicity Chair of the Local Organising Committee, Seth Adu Mensah, has said the Guan Congress Anum 2026 is expected to highlight tourism and investment opportunities in Anum as organisers seek to attract investors and visitors to the area.

The congress, scheduled for Friday, August 14 to Sunday, August 16, will bring together Guan communities, traditional leaders, young people, investors and other stakeholders for a weekend of cultural, business and development activities.

Speaking on the Joy Super Morning Show on Wednesday, August 12, Seth Adu Mensah, Media and Publicity Chair of the Local Organising Committee, said the event would provide an opportunity to showcase the economic potential of the area.

“We want, after the Congress, to expose these potential investment opportunities to people so that people can get jobs, people can get employment, and people can develop themselves,” he said.

Mr Mensah said Anum and surrounding communities have several tourism attractions that could be developed to support the local economy.

He noted that the area has more than 20 tourist sites, some of which remain largely untapped.

“We have a lot of tourist attractions within Anum. In fact, we have more than 22 tourist sites in there, which we cannot mention all of them here,” he said.

As part of the congress event, participants will embark on a hiking expedition and other excursions to experience some of the area's natural attractions.

Mr Mensah said the activities were deliberately included to expose participants to the tourism potential of the area and encourage investment.

He said the area's location also presents opportunities for property development and other businesses, particularly with the construction of an inland port.

“From property development, people can actually look at the investment opportunities within Anum. The inland port is now being constructed at this point, so there is a lot that can take this route,” he said.

According to the organisers, greater investment in tourism, property development and related sectors could create employment opportunities for residents and contribute to the long-term development of the community.

The congress is therefore expected to go beyond cultural celebrations by creating a platform for business networking, tourism promotion and investment.

Organisers have invited investors interested in tourism and other sectors to participate in the congress and explore opportunities available in Anum.

They also encouraged members of the public and people interested in experiencing Guan culture to attend the event.

The organisers expressed the hope that the exposure generated by the congress would translate into concrete investments and development projects that would continue to benefit the community after the event.
