Ghana’s number one entertainment station, Hitz FM, known for hosting some of the most exciting and entertaining events, is set to host another one this Friday.
Dubbed SOLO, the event will be an electrifying one-on-one experience with some of the listener’s favourite artistes.
Patrons will get the chance to interact with these artistes as well as jam to their songs throughout the night.
Rapper M.anifest has been billed as the headline act for the very first edition of SOLO which promises to be a night of total entertainment and socialization.
M.anifest, born Kwame Ametepee Tsikata, is one of Ghana’s prolific rappers, singers and songwriters.
He won ‘Best Rapper’ and ‘Hip-Hop Song of the Year’ at the 2017 Ghana Music Awards.
He has worked with Damon Albarn, Flea, Tony Allen, Erykah Badu, and has featured on five songs on the Rocket Juice and The Moon album.
He is the grandson of one of Africa’s foremost ethnomusicologists and composers J.H. Kwabena Nketia.
In 2012, BBC’s arts program ‘The Strand’ tipped him as one of four acts to look out for in 2012.
In 2015 M.anifest's single ‘Someway Bi’ earned him a third-place honour in the International Songwriters Competition (ISC).
In the same year, The Guardian named M.anifest as “the foremost rapper on the continent.”
He has churned out countless singles and has five albums to his credit.
Hitz FM gave its listeners the opportunity to choose which artiste they wanted to see mount the stage of the maiden edition of SOLO and M.anifest had the most votes.
The maiden edition of SOLO comes off on September 14, 2018, at the COCKPIT inside the Achimota Mall in Accra.
M.anifest will thrill patrons to memorable performances of hit songs including, ‘Time No Dey’, ‘Palm Wine & Whisky’, ‘Nowhere Cool’ and a host of others.
