Kumawood actress Emelia Brobbey and her friends will on Saturday, August 1 raise funds for the Compassion Is Live In Action (C.I.L.I.A) children’s home in Sunyani.
The event, which is under her Emelia Brobbey Charity Organization (E.B.C.O) and which will be in the form of a concert, will raise funds to complete a three-bedroom structure for the orphanage.
Celebrities who will support Emelia at the Sunyani Coronation Park, the venue of the concert, will include actors Bill Asamoah, Dabo, Nana Ama McBrown and musicians Gifty Osei, SP Kofi Sarpong, and Brother Sammy.
Emelia told Showbiz last week that “the fund raising event will have the musicians treat patrons to musical performances while the actors will entertain them with short sketches.”
The pretty actress explained that this is her social responsibility to society. “I love to put smiles on the faces of the needy and this one of the things I am doing to realise that passion”, she added.
E.B.C.O since its establishment in 2012 has supported four orphanages namely Agbogloshie Kayaye Needless Kids Centre in Accra, Rhemar Ghana Rehabilitation Centre, Kumasi, Abdullam Orphanage and Patmos Children Home in Obuasi.
Emelia Brobby, who hails from Akim Swedru in the Eastern Region, was born on Friday, January 6, to Samuel P. Brobbey and Miss Selina Amponsah.
She attended Akyem Swedru secondary School and then enrolled at Ghana Institute of Journalism where she earned a Diploma in Communication.
She later went to GIMPA to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management.
She has featured in over 80 movies and has her own production house, End Time Films.
