The National Service Authority (NSA) has reaffirmed its commitment to the prompt payment of outstanding allowances owed to National Service Personnel, assuring that concrete steps are being taken to clear all verified arrears.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh, on February 17, 2026, management of the Authority said allowances remain critical to supporting personnel throughout their service year and stressed that every service person deserves timely payment of their rightful stipends.
According to the NSA, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) advanced funds last week to cover two months of allowances for disbursement.
"However, Management wants to state categorically that the delay stems from an ongoing verification process by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhiPSS), which must be completed to ensure accuracy and financial integrity before payments are finally effected," the statement read.
The NSA acknowledged the patience and resilience shown by service personnel during the period, noting that their contribution to national development remains deeply valued and appreciated.
"Management is committed to ensuring that all verified and legitimate arrears are cleared by close of this week."
The Authority added that it will continue to provide timely updates through its official communication channels to keep personnel fully informed.
