Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew waved his magic in the French Ligue 1 for Olympique Marseille by scoring in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Valenciennes but could not secure them the title
The 21-year-old restored parity for the dethroned champions by blasting home a Valbuena pass in the 34th minute just a minute after Algerian midfielder Foued Kadir had put the visitors ahead.
Andre has scored 11 goals this season in all competitions.
Loic Remy doubled Didier Deschamps’ men advantage three minutes later but Senegalese international Remi Gomis grabbed a share of the spoils for Valenciennes on 66 minutes.
His younger brother Jordan maintained his place in the starting line-up and lasted 65 minutes on the pitch.
