The Executive Producer of Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Mavis Amanor Avornyo had the opportunity to meet Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola in the United States of America (USA).
Mrs Avornyo met Guardiola after City’s pre-season friendly victory over Chelsea at Ohio Stadium.
Reflecting on the encounter, she shared, “On a rainy Saturday after Manchester City won 4-2 against Chelsea in Columbus Ohio, I stood at the entrance of the dressing room just to film the players and officials.
“Beyond my expectations, I came face to face with the man regarded as one of the best, if not the best coach in the World Josep Guardiola Sala, affectionately called Pep Guardiola. He picked the surname of his dad Guardiola, and mum Sala.
“I had unknowingly stepped out of my way closer to the entrance and was amazed to see him. I don’t even know how I shouted his name, to which he responded nicely and touched my chin, I gestured for a short interview, and he beckoned me to walk alongside him, but he had to be whisked away as he was needed for sponsors’ adverts around the stadium.”
Fire Lady as she is popularly called also met Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland.

She wrote: "Right in front of me is Manchester City Striker Haaland signing an autograph for an unnamed man after City defeated Chelsea in the US. The man was a guest of the organisers of the match and reportedly paid ten thousand six hundred dollars before being given access to the player for his autograph, a picture with him and a signed jersey after the match."
“But I stood right there on the same grounds with them without paying anything. What do you call this if not Grace. Persevere in whatever you want to do and with passion and hard work, you will always go places,” Fire Lady added.
