The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has called for calm among residents of Adenta, amid growing concerns over deteriorating road conditions in the constituency.

In a press statement, Mr. Ashie Moore acknowledged the frustration of commuters, particularly those navigating the Ashaley Botwe–Lakeside, Ntreh, and Commandos roads.

He assured residents that relief was on the way, citing the NDC’s national infrastructure agenda, which pledges to construct 10 kilometers of roads annually in each of Ghana’s 166 constituencies.

“Even the road to my own house in Adenta is in a deplorable condition,” the regional chairman admitted, underscoring the urgency of the situation.

“I have personally engaged the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, to prioritise rehabilitation works in Adenta.”

Mr. Ashie Moore urged residents to remain patient and place their trust in President John Mahama’s development plan, which he says delivered several key road projects during the NDC’s previous term in office.

“We are fully aware of the challenges faced by our people,” he said.

“I want to assure the good residents of Adenta that these issues are receiving the highest level of attention. I am confident our government will soon make the people of Adenta happy with significant improvements in their roads.”

Among the roads previously completed under the Mahama-led administration were the ARS–3rd Gate road, Aviation–Barrier Road, and the Adjirigano–School Junction Road.

Mr. Ashie Moore also addressed recent tensions following reports that some officials suggested residents should fix their own roads, a statement that drew sharp criticism from community members.

He has instructed the Adenta MP, the Municipal Chief Executive, and Constituency Chairman Lomo to meet with Residents’ Associations this Sunday to issue a formal apology.

“Our president frowns upon any act of political arrogance or insensitivity,” he said. “Leadership must listen, apologise when necessary, and act in the best interest of the people.”

Mr. Ashie Moore expressed confidence that the NDC’s commitment to grassroots development and infrastructure renewal will further entrench its political influence in the Greater Accra Region.

“We believe that consistent delivery and responsible governance will earn the continued support of our people,” he concluded.
